Sun Collectors Completes 205 kW Commercial Solar Project at Enercon’s East Peoria Facility

EAST PEORIA, Ill. — October 2025 — Sun Collectors has announced the completion of a 205-kilowatt commercial solar project at Enercon’s manufacturing and testing facility in East Peoria, Illinois. The system, energized in July 2025, represents one of the region’s most impactful commercial solar installations to date.

The project features 500 high-efficiency 410-watt solar panels, designed to offset 75% of the facility’s annual electricity usage. The system is projected to produce 269,697 kilowatt-hours annually, delivering annual savings of approximately $48,545 at current power rates.

Enercon, a global leader in precision-engineered power systems, anticipates a one-year return on investment (ROI) thanks to a combination of federal tax incentives, Ameren rebates, and state solar programs. Over 25 years, the company is projected to avoid more than $2.6 million in utility costs.

“Like many business owners, my main priorities were cost, ROI, and long-term value,” said Larry Tangel, Owner of Enercon. “Sun Collectors provided the facts and figures that made the decision clear. The numbers just made too much sense not to move forward with solar.”

“Commercial clients often worry about upfront costs, but projects like Enercon prove the ROI is a no-brainer,” said William Grant, Owner of Sun Collectors. “This installation not only reduces operating costs but also positions Enercon as a leader in sustainability and innovation in Central Illinois.”

The installation was designed and completed by Oasis Electric – Powered by Sun Collectors, with drone footage and project photos available upon request.
